SPINNING A YARN

Opening at daybreak in the Mendips and closing at dusk in the Quantocks, the film weaves a slow and reflective journey that navigates how sheep are reared by local shepherds and how their fleeces are washed, carded, spun, felted and woven by artists from the county.

Commissioned by Somerset Arts Works as part of the 'Spinning a Yarn' exhibition, Trevor Pitt’s film ‘Somerset Yarning’ captures the personal stories of sheep farmers and artists who work with their fleeces.

Opening at daybreak in the Mendips and closing at dusk in the Quantocks, the film follows how the fleeces from Fernhill Farm are carded, spun, felted and woven by artists from across the county.

This film is now starting a tour of the South West of England, with its premiere viewing being shown on Saturday 22nd March at the Fibre Experience event at Fernhill Farm - free farm open day

This 20m film will be followed by an "In Conversation" session with film participants - Andy Wear, Jen Hunter, Bec Briar, Liz Clay & Trevor Pitt
