Fernhill Fibre Experience - pre-book your trade stand

from £0.00

On the 21st March 2026, Fernhill Farm opens its gates for the Biannual Blade Shearing Tournament and Farm Open Days. A FREE family day out on top of the Mendip Hills in our beautiful Natural Landscape - an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB)

Fibre Experience will showcase the Wonder of Wool, with displays of many British wool products, available for everyone.

Fernhill Fibre will deliver a decade of wool research into innovation and product awareness, to include acoustic drapes, felt insulation, packaging, rugs and carpet underlay, bedding, furniture, mulch, historic re-enactments etc.

This one day event will continue to focus on the inclusion of many natural fibres alongside our wool harvesting systems, with a key focus on holistic agriculture. As well as talks and films focussed on reviving natural fibre industries, we will be discussing how to rehabilitate the land with animals grazing in rotation, conserving soils and enhancing biodiversity whilst harvesting replenishing resources that can benefit water, plant and mineral cycles. Farm Walks will be available around the farm and fields throughout the day.

Stallholders at the Fibre Experience event are encouraged to participate because it provides a unique platform to showcase products that align with our commitment to sustainability and authenticity. We emphasise items that are real, regenerative, organic, local, natural, and native to the best of the stallholders' abilities, aiming for at least 95% adherence to these principles. Stallholders are expected to adhere to these guidelines to contribute to the overall mission of promoting sustainable and responsible consumption

We prioritise natural dyes over synthetic ones, advocate for veg-tanned leather instead of chrome, and promote the use of local wood over imported varieties. Our event aims to create a plastic-free environment, fostering a space where products are not only of high quality but also in line with ethical and eco-friendly practices.
