NEW PRODUCTS FOR AUTUMN 2025:
Washed white long locks, carded as SLIVER
Washed white long locks, combed as TOPS
These are pure virgin wool fibres, harvested in the Fernhill Farm Sheep Shearing Shed and include a mix of breeds - mostly our own Romney Shetland with our lustre breeds that include Teeswater, Wensleydale, Blue Faced Leicester, Leicester Long Wool - this blend also contains other non-Fernhill fibres that includes Ryeland, Texel, Mule, Kerry Hills, and Zwarbles - the reason being these sheep had entered our shed to be shorn on British Wool Sheep Shearing Courses and the farmers had no financial gain in collecting their fibres, so they were left for us to make best use of … and here we have, almost by mistake, certainty seems like a perfect timing, we can now introduce our new range of native shade Sliver and Tops we call “stone”
With a lovely soft straight structure, these fibres are washed and combed into slivers and tops ideal for hand spinning, felting and fibre arts
