Scoured Fleece: When we grade our fleeces ready for processing we always remove second cuts, shorter edge fibres, matted and damaged fibres, urine stains etc, and to make these rejected fibres useful again, we send in bulk quantities to an industrial scouring plant in Yorkshire to be washed

These ‘seconds wool’ fibres are therefore very clean and have little VM - yellow staining is apparent on some fibres and there are a few bits of native colours in the mix but as we consider these to be excellent behind the scenes ‘Core Wool Fibres’, this allows you to create padded items using 100% natural fibres

Spinners Waste: A by-product from the spinning mill, these are the shorter fibres that are combed out from the main body of yarn when it approaches the more final stages of yarn production. These are usually beautifully soft, short and fluffy, dense in volume and are ideal as cushion stuffing, filler and padding. We have waste from our Silver Lustre worsted spun yarns (see 100g Braid photo for colour check), as well as woollen spun waste from our beige Shetland yarns
