Spray marker fleece

from £5.00

August fleece sale remnants - Bank Holiday Monday 25th August 2025

Colourful spray marker fleece

1kg box or 10kg bag - filled with a range of colourful sprayed fleece from lots of our Lustre Flock and Romney Shetland ewes - to be turned into a beautifully vibrant art installations etc

Spray marks arrive on our fleeces from when each ewe is pregnancy tested to diagnose if she is barren, carrying a single lamb, twins, triplets or quads- it’s annoying but necessary as spray marked fleece is rejected from our spinning batches as we don’t believe it should ever be incorporated into any of our beautiful yarns

Each piece of spray marked fleece is from the top or middle or the sheep’s back, where the sheep scanner sprays a single colour coded dot so we can manage the ewe accordingly throughout her pregnancy

As we Blade shear our ewes pre-lamb - when the fleece is shorn and thrown on our grading tables, with one quick grab, we remove the whole section away in one swipe, which creates these clumps of colourful fleece, ideal for chunky peg loom weaving the Fernhill way = tuffet see last photo

Can also be used for other craft applications,  and we would be delighted to see your own creative ideas to make use of our reject fibres too
