All Fernhill Fibre Fleeces are graded and skirted and here we are selling the seconds fibres we remove and refer to as the “skirt”

These bundles contain the sides that touch the ground and other more dirty long locks from our lovely LUSTRE BREED* fleeces that we consider still beautiful, just need a good wash and time to pick through!

Beautifully soft mixed white and colourful curls from our 2023 wool clip, some bits have VM, maybe traces of spray or shorter fibres, we hope someone has the time to cleanse them and make use of these mixed length locks

New for 2023 we have areas of fleece that has lots of twigs or thistle heads that we simply don’t have time to pick through ourselves, in both white and coloured big curls and tiny BFL curls too - please select the VM range for these

(*Lustre flock pure Ram breeds we have here include = Leicester Longwool, Teeswater, coloured Blue Faced Leicester and Coloured Wensleydale crossed with Shetland ewes for hardiness in this flock and softness across their fleeces)

All the Britch batches are selected from our coloured Romney x Shetlands that have maintained that classic almost double coated gene, displaying extreme differences in long, wispy, coarse curls that offer so much more texture to be creative with - all from the back leg in all the native Shetland shades 

All fleeces are Blade Shorn and sorted on grading tables to remove bellies, breech, crutch, topknots, checks, spray marker & most veg matter, dust, dirt, dags etc
